Why hospital personnel’s wear scrubs

You might have noticed that some hospital personnel’s, particularly those assigned in the operating room area like surgeons, wear scrubs instead of the usual uniform medical personnel’s use.

Scrubs are shirts and pants, sometimes it can be a gown, worn by nurses, doctors and other medical personnel’s assigned in the operating room. But nowadays, the wearing of scrubs are extended outside of surgery in many hospitals.

Scrubs are designed to be simple with minimal places for dirt to accumulate. Scrubs are not owned by the medical staff wearing them. They are hospital owned or leased from a linen company due to sterility issues when brought out of the hospital and washed at home.
